ZnO Particles Stabilized in Polymeric Matrix for Liquid-Phase Methanol Synthesis

ZnO supported on hypercrosslinked polystyrene was developed for liquid-phase methanol synthesis. The synthesized catalyst characterized using the low-temperature nitrogen physisorption, TEM, XPS, XAS, and CO DRIFT methods. analysis showed that has a high specific surface area (720 m2/g) is by micro-mesoporous structure typical of polymer used. active phase represented species with hexagonal wurtzite structure. ZnO-HPS activity, selectivity, stability in synthesis comparison industrial catalyst. activity proposed found to be 1.64 times higher than conventional Cu/ZnO/Al2O3.

A colloidal ZnO/Cu nanocatalyst for methanol synthesis.
Free-standing, ZnO surface decorated Cu nanoparticles of 1-3 nm size were obtained by sequential co-pyrolysis of [Cu(OCHMeCH2NMe2)2] and ZnEt2 in squalane in the absence of additional surfactants and proved to be highly active quasi homogeneous catalysts for methanol synthesis from CO and H2.
